Frequently asked questions
What is a UAE free zone company?
A company registered in one of the UAE's 40+ free zones. Foreigners can own 100% of it, bring profits home, and get UAE residence visas. Free zone companies are licensed for specific activities and mainly trade inside the free zone or internationally.
What is the cheapest free zone in the UAE?
Ajman Media City, Ajman Free Zone, UAQ FTZ, SHAMS, SPC and RAKEZ are usually the lowest-cost options, with licences from around AED 5,000–6,000 (no visa). Dubai options like IFZA and Meydan start from around AED 12,500. Prices change often — compare live packages on our site.
How long does it take to set up a free zone company?
The licence is often issued in 2–7 working days once your documents are complete. Residence visas usually take another 1–3 weeks.
Can I live in Dubai with a free zone visa from another emirate?
Yes. A UAE residence visa lets you live anywhere in the UAE, regardless of which emirate issued it.
Free zone or mainland — which is better?
Free zones are cheaper and faster for international, online and service businesses. Mainland companies can trade directly with the UAE public and bid for government contracts. We help you choose based on who your customers are.
What documents do I need?
Usually a passport copy and a passport-size photo for each shareholder and manager. Some zones also ask for a visa/entry stamp, proof of address or a short business plan.
Can I pay online and upload documents on your website?
Yes. Choose a package, pay securely by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, and upload your passport copy straight away. Our advisor then handles everything with the free zone.
Are you a government authority?
No. Freezone King is a private business-setup consultancy operated by Sky Palace Tourism. Government and free zone fees are paid to the relevant authority through us as part of your package.
Do I need to be in the UAE to set up a free zone company?
No. Most free zones let you set up remotely. You only need to visit for the visa medical test and Emirates ID biometrics.
Can I open a bank account from abroad?
Some banks and digital banks allow remote onboarding, but most UAE banks ask to meet at least once. We prepare your file and arrange the meeting.
Is there a minimum share capital?
Many free zones have no fixed minimum, or ask you to declare capital without depositing it. Some premium zones like DMCC set a higher declared capital.
What happens if I don't renew my licence?
Late renewals usually attract penalties, and visas linked to the company can be affected. We remind you well before the due date.
Can I change free zones later?
Yes, but it usually means setting up a new company and transferring operations. Choosing the right zone at the start saves money.
What is your refund policy?
See our Refund & Cancellation Policy. In short: before we submit to the free zone you can cancel for a refund minus non-recoverable costs; government fees paid on your behalf are non-refundable.
How long does a free zone visa take?
Usually 7–15 working days after the establishment card is issued, depending on the zone and medical test timing.
Can I sponsor my family?
Yes, once you hold a residence visa and meet the minimum salary/income requirement.
Can a free zone company owner get a Golden Visa?
Possibly, through the entrepreneur or investor categories, if you meet the current criteria. We check this for you.
Can you guarantee a bank account?
No one can guarantee approval — banks decide. We maximise your chances with the right bank and a complete file.
Do free zone companies pay corporate tax?
They must register. Qualifying free zone persons can get 0% on qualifying income; other income is taxed at the standard rate.
